ACK Wote Township Boarding and Primary School will proceed to the regional level with 11 items presented at the just-concluded music festival, held at the county level at Kathonzweni AIC Day and Boarding Comprehensive School.
The departmental head, Januarius Mutiso, expressed his joy, adding that they expected to win as many activities as possible to proceed to regionals and nationals.

He said that as teachers, they encourage students to participate in co-curricular activities and inform them of their importance, how to exploit hidden abilities, and their potential beyond academics.
“Here we enlighten pupils on the importance of participating in these activities. We want them to socialise fully, be exposed, explore a new environment, exploit their talents and prepare them for creative activities which are turning out to be the most paid nowadays,” said Mutiso.
The Position 1 Music classes proceeding to regional level are; class 293 position one item pop talent 83 marks, class 1137H African and western ensemble 86 marks, class 221 boys set piece 86 marks, class 226 Taarab with 82 marks, 1061J Indian dance with 86 marks, 1137J African and western ensemble 85 marks, 324 arrangement boys with 84 marks, 327 patriotic song with 86 marks, 105 solo set piece with 87 points, position 2 was scored by class; 1112J non classical guitar with 84 marks then 1135H solo drum with 81 marks.
The team leader, Daniel Mutinda, noted that they had taken a team of 207 participants, where their boys dominated in the festival.
With around 12 items, 11 are proceeding to regionals with high hopes of going up to nationals.
Mutinda noted that last year, two activities, Class 280 Folk Song and Class 380 Junior Folk Song, secured first place and proceeded to nationals.
