Your school does not determine your success, students told

Bungoma County Deputy Governor Prof Charles Ngome has challenged students to build confidence and trust in schools where they are enrolled.

He advised students in sub-county secondary schools to discard the notion that only extra-county or national schools are capable of producing quality university entry grades.

Speaking recently at New Hope Mwangale Secondary School, Prof Ngome reminded the students that their institutions are as good as national schools.

“Your teachers have similar qualifications as their colleagues in national schools,” he said.

Consequently, the Deputy Governor told students to have a positive attitude towards their school and teachers in order for them to excel in KCSE exams.

He at the same time also challenged parents to identify their children’s talents and nurture them.

He called upon parents not to force their children to do things they have no interest in.

“If your child loves drawing or singing encourage and give him/her the necessary support,” he said.
