Property of unknown value has been destroyed by floods after river Kinyaritha burst its banks leading to floods in Kathirune Secondary school in North Imenti Sub County.

School principal Hildah Nyaga said computers, books and laboratory property were destroyed by the floods. Floods also carried away piglets, goats, and fish reared by the school.

There are no casualties, students and teachers are on holiday.

Nyaga said the flash floods ran into the double streamed school of 320 students on Wednesday  night destroying the  properties .

However, according to the principal, a similar flooding occurred in the year 2017 but it was not as bad as the current one.

The school principal appealed to well-wishers to help the institution construct trenches to minimize floods.
