Bansi Bugni Primary school has benefited from a Ksh12 million classrooms project donated by renowned businessman, Kathrotiya Mansukh Bansi, an initiative set to uplift the education sector in Nyatike constituency, Migori County.

Speaking during the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the classrooms, Mansukh said that it was important for children to learn in a quality environment.

He noted that in a bid to scale down and curb the case of school dropouts due to long distances, he saw the need to start up a school in the area.

“I saw the need to start up a school in the area after I visited a friend from that locality and spotted kids learning under a tree. I met with the local community and they donated a piece of land where we constructed the first classrooms starting from the early childhood education level,” said Mansukh.

He promised to help Bansi Bugni Primary school have proper infrastructure which will contribute to development of the school and the community.

“Education is a lifetime investment and the best support the children can be given. Instead of giving handouts daily, it’s important we embrace the act of supporting the education system in the country for a learned community is able to grow through job creation and security,” he said.

Kilan Bansi, Mansukh’s last born son pleaded with other investors to come on board and help the people grow saying that giving back to the community assures the locals of a better future.

He added that this would be a source of employment since more teachers would be employed.

Kilan further called upon the youth to embrace sports since it pays and is considered as a profession adding that if any upcoming sports groups within the region need support, they should reach out to him.
