Over 4,000 to sit KCPE, KCSE

Some 4,277 school candidates in Lamu County will sit both Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations this year.
According to the Lamu West Sub County Director of Education in Lamu County Josephat Ngumi, out of the 4,277 candidates who will sit the two national examinations 2,985 will sit KCPE and 1,292 candidates KCSE.
He added that the candidates have already been registered by the Ministry of Education in the county.
The Sub County Director of Education, however, urged teachers in the region to be dedicated to their work to post better national examination results.
Ngumi asked parents in the area to help teachers in instilling discipline in their school children.
He revealed that 12 public primary schools in Lamu West Sub County where learning had been disrupted by floods have now reopened after the water subsided.
