By John Majau

Education stakeholders in Tharaka-Nithi County have called on the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) to review the current curriculum for teachers training colleges.
They claimed it was outdated and out of touch with the modern world of technology.
Led by Tharaka-Nithi County minister for Education Abraham Maruta they said the review exercise should be done as soon as possible so that the teaching in teachers colleges is in tandem with the modern world.
“The curriculum in all the teachers training colleges countrywide have stagnated for a long time and it should be reviewed as a matter of urgency. This will enable students get jobs immediately after graduating because they already have the required skills and expertise in other fields apart from the teaching career,” said the minister.
He was speaking at Rubate Teachers Training College during graduation ceremony.
