County Knut branch roots for Sossion

By Christine Tarayie

Kajiado Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) has urged the Secretary General Wilson Sossion to ignore those calling for his resignation
Kajiado Knut branch secretary Elly Korinko, who is also Knut Rift Valley region executive Secretary, while defending him said those against Sossion were playing cheap politics for selfish gain. Korinko said that those in the forefront to have Sossion ousted from the union leadership are guns for hire being used by selfish individuals.
“We have recently witnessed anti-Sossion protest with protesters claiming he is not eligible to serve as a nominated MP as well as Knut Secretary general. These calls are baseless,’ he said.
He said the nomination of Sossion is a gain for teachers as Parliament serves as a good platform for him to articulate Kenyan teachers’ issues.
Korinko further argued that in the last Knut Annual Delegates Conference, Sossion was unanimously supported to continue with the secretary general position.
“I strongly believe Sossion’s legislative mandate will not interfere with his union leadership performance, but it will instead strengthen it,” he added.
