Nduru Boys thrash Agoro Sare as Homa Bay ball games enter third day

The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association ball matches reached their second day yesterday at Asumbi Teachers Training College in Homabay County.

In the Rugby sevens competition, Nduru Boys High School beat Agoro Sare 12:10 to reach the semi finals.

The main Rugby match will be between Nyakach Girls and new comers Nyakembene Secondary school who are determined to reach the semi finals.

St. Pauls Gekano Boys High School are seeking a slot for the Volleyball finals after defeating Riokindo Boys School. If they beat Sagege Sevondat School in the semi finals today, they will qualify and face Gesabakwa Secondary school.

More eyes are set on the Soccer match that will be played between Kanga High School and Agoro Sare in pool A. The qualifying team will meet either Gesabakwa or Kisumu Day from school from pool B in the finals.

According to Nyanza Region Secondary Schools Sports Association Chairman Mr. George Oloo the matches were proceeding in earnest although their standard was low compared to previous years.

“After the disruption of games and sports by Covid-19, our schools did not get enough time to train their teams within the short notice they were given to prepare,” he said.

Nyanza Region Deputy Director of Education, Mrs. Ebby Kegode who graced the occasion lauded the learners for showcasing their talents and urged them to maintain the peace and discipline observed so far.
