By EN

An alert cook saved hundreds of pupils and teachers from fatalities after a school water tank full of water meant for cooking was adulterated with unknown chemicals.

Were it not for the attentive cook, the entire school in Murang’a would have consumed the now believed poisoned water.

Mary Wanjiru noted the water had a strange milky colour and pungent smell. Investigations are ongoing to find the root of the chemical.

The cook has been applauded for her heroic act after saving Mwara Primary school from a potential calamity.
