The fraternity of Asumbi Girls National School in Rangwe Sub-County, Homa Bay County, has received a new Chief Principal following the retirement of long-serving Chief Principal Madam Linet Pino Sati.
Sati, the first lay Principal in the over 60-year history of the Catholic-sponsored national school, officially retired on September 30, 2026, after more than a decade at the helm. She took over the school in 2014 from Sr. Josephine Opiyo and is credited with massive infrastructure expansion and academic excellence, including a 2025 KCSE mean score of 9.78 with 914 candidates and 100% university transition.
After her exit, the school was under the leadership of the Deputy Principal, Rev. Sr. Caroline Onyango, who served as Acting Principal. Sr. Caroline, who had served as Deputy for several years under Sati, was praised by teachers and students for her dedication, wisdom, discipline and strong Catholic values. She held the school stable during the transition period and ensured smooth running of academic and co-curricular activities.
