A fire broke out at OlButyo Boys High School in Chepalungu Sub-County, Bomet County, on Sunday evening, destroying one of the school’s dormitories and leaving property worth an undisclosed amount damaged.
The blaze sent students and staff into an emergency response as efforts were mounted to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other buildings within the school compound.
Preliminary reports indicate that the affected dormitory was extensively damaged, with much of the property inside destroyed in the inferno. No casualties had been reported by the time of filing this report.
