The remains of Lalagin Secondary School teacher Martina Chepkemoi Ruto were laid to rest on Sunday at her family home in Abosi, where family, friends, colleagues, students and members of the community gathered to bid her farewell.
The burial brought together mourners who remembered Chepkemoi as a dedicated teacher whose death left a deep sense of loss among her family, colleagues and the learners she served.
Chepkemoi was killed in circumstances that shocked the community, prompting calls for justice and accountability over her death.
Her death has been particularly painful to the education fraternity, with colleagues mourning the loss of a teacher who had dedicated herself to educating and mentoring students at Lalagin Secondary School.

During the funeral service, mourners paid tribute to her life and contribution to the school community, describing her death as a devastating loss to those who knew and worked with her.
