- Jukwaa la Wasomi has invited trained mediators from universities, TVETs, TTCs, KMTCs and schools to a CPM graduation ceremony on September 21, 2026, in Nairobi.
- The event has been organised to launch the Kenya National Mediation Hub, which will connect over 30,000 campus and school-based mediation hubs with government agencies.
- The ceremony will also launch a framework for including student leaders on Security and Intelligence Committees.
Jukwaa la Wasomi National Steering Committee is inviting all trained mediators from universities, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs), Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTCs), senior secondary schools and comprehensive schools, covering both primary and junior secondary levels, to the Certified Professional Mediators (CPM) graduation ceremony. The event will take place on September 21, 2026, at the Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies in Nairobi.
Jukwaa la Wasomi is a multi-agency initiative that promotes mediation, dialogue, conflict prevention, peaceful coexistence and responsible student leadership in learning institutions.

The ceremony will feature four key activities. The first is the launch of the Kenya National Mediation Hub, which will coordinate and connect more than 30,000 campus and school-based mediation hubs, linking them with National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) and other relevant government agencies. The second is the launch of the Mr. and Miss Peace-Academic Institution initiative, aimed at empowering young people to become ambassadors of peace, dialogue, national cohesion and responsible leadership.
The third activity is the launch of a framework for including student leaders and senior academic administrators in Security and Intelligence Committees. The ceremony will also mark the commemoration of the International Day of Peace, reaffirming Kenya’s commitment to dialogue, non-violence, tolerance, national cohesion and peaceful conflict resolution.

The agency has asked heads of academic institutions to support their trained mediators in attending what it describes as an important national occasion. The dress code for the event is all white, symbolising peace, national unity and the commitment of all CPM graduates to resolving conflict through nonviolent means.
