- Parents and guardians can monitor students’ academic progress and financial information through the university’s dedicated portal.
- The platform also provides access to provisional examination results and accommodation information for registered students.
- Egerton says the system is designed to strengthen family involvement throughout students’ university academic journeys.
Egerton University has strengthened parents’ and guardians’ involvement in students’ academic journeys through its Parents/Guardian Portal, giving them direct access to important information about their children’s progress.
The university acknowledges that behind every student is a parent, guardian or sponsor making financial and other sacrifices to support their education. The portal is designed to keep these stakeholders connected to students and the university.
According to Egerton University, the Parents/Guardian Portal provides access to key student information, including academic and financial status and important university information.
Parents and guardians can log into the portal using their details and access information relating to their students. The system is intended to promote greater involvement in students’ academic progress while also improving communication between families and the university.
Parents can monitor progress
The university previously described the portal as a platform through which parents and guardians could monitor students’ academic, financial and campus-life information. It includes details such as the student profile, fee structure, provisional examination results and accommodation profile.
The initiative means students have an additional layer of accountability, particularly where parents or guardians are actively monitoring their academic performance and financial obligations.

For students who may have hoped to keep their campus affairs private from tech-savvy parents, the system could make that considerably more difficult.
In a light-hearted twist, the message to students is simple: if both you and your parents are good with technology, you may have nowhere to hide.
Portal remains accessible
The Parents/Guardian Portal is currently accessible through Egerton University’s dedicated online platform. The live portal requires a National ID or passport number, password and student number to log in.
