Nakuru County Director of Education Victoria Mulili has urged parents to guide their children to improve standards of discipline and concentrate on education in order to achieve good results in national examinations and assessments.
Speaking in Nakuru City, Mulili said discipline is a key factor in the success of any child and parents should contribute to improving the behavioural character of their children by guiding them positively and moulding them to become future patriotic citizens of Kenya.
“Discipline is the backbone of any academic success, and parents are key stakeholders in ensuring that all school-going children are guided strictly and moulded to have good character that can contribute to their academic success,” said the Nakuru County Director of Education.
Schools urged to prepare candidates
Mulili also urged school heads to continue with preparations for national examinations and assessments, which are scheduled to begin in Third Term.
She said the county expects all schools to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) to enable all candidates to express their minds and get results that belong to them.
“We urge school heads in Senior Schools and Comprehensive Schools, together with supervisors and invigilators, to give all candidates an opportunity to express their minds and sit for their assessments and examinations and get results that reflect their performance and will help them in their future careers,” said Mulili.
She said KPSEA will start on October 26 and end on October 29, KILEA will be held between October 26 and October 30, KJSEA will be held between October 26 and November 5, while KCSE will be held between November 2 and November 20.
The Director wished all candidates success in their examinations and assessments.
