The 2026 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games enter Day Two on Saturday, August 15, with schools from across East Africa returning to action in a packed programme featuring football, basketball, volleyball, handball, rugby, hockey, scrabble and lacrosse.
The championship in Morogoro, Tanzania, has already produced an exciting opening day, with Kenyan teams recording mixed results against strong opposition from Uganda and Tanzania. In boys’ football, Kakamega School lost 2-1 to Uganda’s Kyadondo Secondary School, while St Mary’s Yala fell 1-0 to St Mary’s Kitende.
Day Two promises another demanding schedule, with Kenyan schools involved in several crucial encounters.
Boys’ football
At 11am at Jamhuri Stadium, Tanzania’s Urambo Day will face Kenya’s Kakamega School in a Group C encounter.
At 1pm at Ujenzi, Tanzania’s Mbeya Day will play Nsumba of Tanzania in Group A.
At 1pm at Jamhuri Stadium, Uganda’s Bukedea Comprehensive will meet Kyadondo Secondary School in Group C.
At 3pm at Jamhuri Stadium, Uganda’s Amus College School will face Burundi’s IPTEM Makamba in Group A.
At 3pm at Moro Secondary School, Tanzania’s Morogoro will take on Kenya’s St Mary’s Yala in Group B.
Girls’ basketball
The girls’ basketball programme begins at 9am at Highland Estate, where Kenya’s Kaya Tiwi face Rwanda’s ESB Kamonyi in Group A.
At 10am, Tanzania’s Orkeswa take on Kenya’s Butere Girls in Group B, also at Highland Estate.
At 11am, Tanzania’s Rungwa face Uganda’s St Noa Girls SS Szzana in another Group B contest at Highland Estate.
Boys’ basketball
At 9am, Uganda’s St Cyprian High School will play Kenya’s Lukenya School in Group A.
At 10am, Kenya’s FS Kamusinga meet Uganda’s Amus College School in Group B.
At 11am, FS Kamusinga return to action against Tanzania’s Juhudi in Group B.
At noon, Tanzania’s Nsumba face Uganda’s St Michael High School in Group A.
Girls’ handball
The girls’ handball programme at MOTCO starts at 10am, with Tanzania’s Kazima taking on Kenya’s Moi Girls Kamusinga.
At 11am, Kenya’s St Joseph’s Girls Kitale face Uganda’s Kibuli SS.
At noon, Uganda’s Kawanda Secondary School meet Uganda’s Wampeewo Ntaake SS.
At 1pm, Uganda’s Gombe Secondary School face Tanzania’s Ibaba.
Girls’ volleyball
At 9am, Uganda’s Katikamu SDA SS face Tanzania’s Mwanhuzi in Group B.
At 10am, Rwanda’s GS Indangaburezi take on Tanzania’s Lumala in Group A.
At 11am, Uganda’s Bukedea Comprehensive School face Kenya’s Soweto in Group B.
At noon, Uganda’s Seroma Christian High School meet Tanzania’s Mengele in Group A.
The fixture sheet also lists another Bukedea Comprehensive School versus Soweto encounter at 1pm in Group B.

At 10am, Uganda’s Kakungulu Memorial School meet Uganda’s Namiliyango College in Group A.
At 11am, Kenya’s St Anthony’s Boys face Uganda’s Mbarara High School in Group B.
At noon, Tanzania’s Benjamin Mkapa take on Uganda’s Ntare School in Group B.
The lacrosse programme features two girls’ and two boys’ fixtures.
In the girls’ category, Kenya’s St Joseph’s Girls Kitale face Tanzania’s Juhudi SS, while Uganda’s Muzza High School meet Kenya’s St Charles Khalaha SS.
In the boys’ category, Tanzania’s Juhudi SS face Kenya’s Musingu School, while Kenya’s Mumias Muslim take on Uganda’s Kigezi High School.
With more than 60 fixtures listed across the various disciplines, Day Two is set to provide another stern test for the participating schools as teams look to strengthen their positions and move closer to the knockout stages.
For Kenyan teams, the focus will be on converting opportunities into victories after a mixed opening day. The regional championship continues to offer a high-level platform for young athletes from across East Africa to test themselves against some of the best school teams in the region.
The FEASSA Games are taking place in Morogoro, with Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi among the participating countries.
