- Kakamega School and St Mary’s Yala are preparing to carry Kenya’s challenge at the 2026 FEASSSA Games in Morogoro.
- The Kenyan sides face formidable opposition, including Uganda’s St Mary’s Kitende, Bukedea Comprehensive and Kyadondo Secondary School.
- Both teams will be seeking strong group-stage performances as Kenya targets East African school football honours.
Kenya’s hopes of conquering East African school football will rest on national champions Kakamega School and St Mary’s Yala when the 2026 FEASSSA Championships kick off in Morogoro, Tanzania, from August 14 to 22.
Kakamega, the reigning Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) boys’ football champions, will be among the teams to watch after once again dominating the national competition.
The Western giants will open their campaign on Friday, August 14, against Uganda’s Kyadondo Secondary School at Moro Secondary at 1pm.
They will then face Urambo Day on Saturday, August 15, at 11am at Jamhuri Stadium before completing their group campaign against Bukedea Comprehensive on Tuesday, August 18, at 2pm at S.U.A.
Tough opener for Yala
St Mary’s Yala, who also reached the national final, face a difficult opening assignment against Uganda’s St Mary’s Kitende on Friday at 11am at Highland.
Yala will take on hosts Morogoro on Saturday at 3pm at Moro Secondary before meeting Rwanda’s CGF Kigali on Tuesday, August 18, at 11am at Highland.
The championships will bring together some of the best school football sides in East Africa, providing Kenya’s representatives with an opportunity to measure themselves against regional opposition.
