Parents, guardians and students have been urged to take note of the ongoing Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) application deadlines to avoid missing opportunities for admission, government scholarships and student loans.
The current application window covers university placements, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) admissions, inter-institutional transfers and higher education funding for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Eligible applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the respective deadlines.
Students seeking placement through the KUCCPS inter-institutional transfer and late degree application windows have until August 14, 2026, to submit their requests.
Those applying for pre-service programmes at the Kenya Medical Training College through KUCCPS, as well as candidates seeking admission to KMTC in-service and upgrading programmes, have until August 11, 2026, to complete their applications.
Applicants are also reminded to complete their HELB funding applications promptly.
First-time applicants for government scholarships and student loans, together with continuing students applying for subsequent loans and scholarships, should ensure they submit their applications by August 31, 2026.

Education stakeholders have encouraged applicants to use only the official KUCCPS and HELB online portals when submitting applications and to avoid waiting until the last minute, as heavy traffic on the systems may cause delays.
