The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued a final reminder to heads of examination centres to upload Milestone II project marks for 2026 KCSE candidates taking subjects with a project component before the July 31 deadline.
In a notice addressed to centre managers, KNEC said the online portal for uploading project scores was opened on July 1, 2026, and will automatically close on July 31.
The council warned that schools had only three days remaining to complete the exercise, urging them to avoid last-minute delays.
KNEC cautioned that any examination centre that fails to upload candidates’ project scores within the stipulated period will be required to pay a penalty of Sh 1,000 per candidate for every late submission.

The council further warned that failure to comply with the deadline could have far-reaching consequences for candidates, including the withholding of their KCSE examination results until the required project marks are submitted.
“The uploading of Milestone II project marks was activated on July 1, 2026, and will close on July 31, 2026. You have three days remaining to upload candidates’ project scores before the deadline,” the council said in the reminder.
KNEC urged all centre managers to ensure the project scores are uploaded through the official KCSE Projects, Orals and Practical Assessment portal using the credentials issued to their examination centres.
The council also reminded schools to safeguard their login details to prevent unauthorised access.
The reminder comes as schools across the country finalise continuous assessment records for candidates sitting this year’s KCSE examination.
Project-based assessment forms part of the final evaluation for subjects with practical or project components, making timely submission of marks critical.
KNEC thanked schools for their continued cooperation in administering national examinations and appealed to all institutions yet to submit project scores to comply before the deadline to avoid penalties and disruptions to candidates’ results.
