Kisii: Two students from Nduru Boys admitted after inhaling smoke during school dorm fire

  • Two students have been admitted after inhaling smoke from a burning school dormitory at Nduru Boys.
  • The fire gutted a dormitory with a capacity of 68 learners. Majority of those affected were Form b two students who lost their belongings in the incident.

Two students from Nduru Boys High School in South Mugirango Constituency, Kisii County have been admitted at Nduru Level 4 Hospital after inhaling smoke from a burning school dormitory.

According to the school’s administration, the fire broke out at about 7:30 P.M yesterday, when students were in their classrooms for evening preps.

However, the cause of the inferno has not yet been established.

The fire gutted a dormitory with a capacity of 68 learners. Majority of those affected were Form b two students who lost their belongings in the incident.

Residents and students joined hands and put the blazing fire out, restricting from spreading to other facilities.

The police said they have started investigations to establish the cause of the fire outbreak.

The two learners who inhaled smoke are receiving treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
