Kaplong Boys’ High School in Sotik Sub-county, Bomet County, is set to host a major career fair on July 11, 2026, aimed at equipping learners with information and guidance on academic and career opportunities in an increasingly competitive job market.
According to an invitation issued by the school’s Careers Department, the event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and bring together students, teachers, career professionals, university representatives and education stakeholders from across the region.
Organisers said the forum is designed for learners under both the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum and the 8-4-4 education system, as well as career masters and guidance and counselling teachers from junior and senior schools.
Participants will have an opportunity to interact with representatives from universities, colleges and the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
Experts on CBE pathways will also guide learners on subject selection, career planning and emerging opportunities in Kenya’s evolving labour market.
Interactive sessions
The school said the career fair will feature keynote presentations, interactive discussions and networking sessions aimed at helping learners make informed decisions about their future education and careers.
Organisers noted that the event will also expose participants to higher education opportunities and provide guidance on university placement, technical training and professional development.
Schools attending with students will pay a registration fee of KSh2,000, while teachers and other participants attending individually will pay KSh1,500 to cater for refreshments, lunch and learning materials.
Schools and participants have been requested to confirm attendance by July 8, 2026.
