This comes after the school overpowered Lelmokwo in all three sets to win 3-0 and successfully retain the county title.
National reigning boys’ volleyball champions Cheptil High School are the new Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Nandi County Boys Volleyball champions after defeating Lelmokwo Secondary School 3-0 in a commanding final to secure a ticket to the Rift Valley Secondary School Games set for Narok County.
Cheptil’s path to the county title was far from straightforward after tournament officials ordered a replay of their controversial semi-final match against Sang’alo Secondary School, which had been disrupted during the Nandi County School Games.
The decision to stage a replay created uncertainty in the competition and delayed confirmation of the finalists.
Match officials scheduled the replay at Kapsabet Boys High School, with fans barred from attending in a move aimed at ensuring order and fairness.
Cheptil responded emphatically, defeating Sang’alo 3-0 in straight sets to book their place in the final.

The victory set up a highly anticipated clash against Lelmokwo, who had already secured their place in the championship match after progressing through the knockout stages.
In the final, the national champions demonstrated their experience and quality, overpowering Lelmokwo in all three sets to win 3-0 and successfully retain the county title.
The victory confirms Cheptil as Nandi County’s representatives at the upcoming Rift Valley regional championships in Narok.
The replay decision had initially reshaped the boys’ competition, introducing fresh uncertainty at a stage when teams were already preparing for the final.
However, Cheptil proved their dominance by winning both the replay and the final without dropping a set.

Meanwhile, in the girls’ category, AIC Kosirai Girls High School emerged as county champions after defeating Cheptil Girls High School 3-0 in the final.
Kosirai produced an impressive display to secure the county crown and earn qualification for the Rift Valley Secondary School Games.
The regional championships in Narok are expected to attract top teams from across the Rift Valley region as schools battle for qualification to the national games.
With Cheptil Boys carrying the tag of national champions and AIC Kosirai arriving as county winners, both teams will be among the sides to watch in Narok.
