The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has invited qualified secondary school teachers and college tutors to apply for positions as assessors for the 2026 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) oral and practical examinations.
The recruitment exercise is aimed at strengthening the assessment process ahead of this year’s national examinations.
According to KNEC, successful applicants will receive on-the-job training during the marking and assessment of the 2026 KCSE oral and practical examination papers.

Interested teachers and tutors have been advised to submit their applications through the KNEC careers portal.
However, professionals who are already registered in the KNEC database of assessors are not required to apply again.
The council has set July 15, 2026, as the deadline for submitting applications and has encouraged eligible candidates to apply before the closing date to avoid last-minute challenges.
The recruitment forms part of KNEC’s preparations for the administration and assessment of the 2026 KCSE examinations, ensuring that qualified professionals are available to conduct oral and practical assessments across various subjects.
