The promotion of the new Makueni TSC County Director, Mr John Paul Wepoghe, wasn’t a big surprise to the residents of West Pokot County, as his story is well known, that he has been succeeding even when situations seem to be very difficult.
John Paul Wepoghe, popularly known as Director Kamas, was born and brought up in a small village known as Lityei situated on the outskirts of Makutano town in West Pokot County.
He went to Makutano Primary School, whose classrooms were dusty apart from being constructed of timber and mud walls.
From his school home, it was a distance of about three kilometres, which he covered to and from daily.
With all the many challenges he encountered during his primary Education, Kamas proved that with hard work and determination, everything is possible.
