TVETA advertises director general/CEO Position

Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) has announced a vacancy for the position of Director General/Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

In a public notice, the Authority said it is seeking to recruit a result-oriented, self-driven and highly ethical individual to lead the institution. The appointment will be on a five-year contract, renewable once for a further term of five years upon the recommendation of the Board.

The Director General will serve as the chief executive officer of the Authority and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of its affairs, subject to the direction of the Board.

This comes Dr. Kipkirui Langat, the former Director General/CEO of the TVETA ended his tenure on April 30, 2025, after serving two five-year terms.

Timothy Nyongesa Katiambo has been serving in acting capacity.

TVETA, a State Corporation under the Ministry of Education established through the TVET Act, 2013, is mandated to promote quality, access, equity and relevance in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Its responsibilities include developing standards, inspection, registration and licensing of trainers and institutions.

The Authority noted that it is an equal opportunity employer that promotes gender equity and diversity. Persons living with disabilities and members of minority groups have been encouraged to apply.

TVETA further warned that any form of canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification and stated that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

The deadline for submission of applications is June 9, 2026.
