Why St. Joseph Kitale’s Jobo is Kenya’s most feared school football side

St. Joseph Kitale reinforced their dominance after winning last year’s national school football title

Defending National and Rift Valley champions St. Joseph’s Boys High School Kitale (JOBO) have once again proved why they remain the most feared side in regional school football after lifting the 2025 title in dominant fashion.

JOBO sealed the championship with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kimuron Secondary School in a tense final in Nakuru County last year, completing the tournament without conceding a single goal.

The Kitale giants have built their success on discipline, teamwork, tactical awareness and a rock-solid defence that has frustrated opponents throughout the season.

Their ability to remain organised under pressure has made them the benchmark of school football in the Rift Valley and one of the strongest teams nationally.

But even as JOBO continues to dominate, rivals are closing in fast.

Kimuron Secondary School has emerged as a serious threat after another impressive campaign. Their aggressive pressing, hardworking squad, and tactical sharpness pushed the champions to the limit and confirmed their status as genuine contenders.

Former national and East Africa champions St. Anthony’s Boys High School Kitale, remain dangerous despite missing out on the title.

Their rich football pedigree and attacking quality mean they can never be ruled out.

Meteitei Boys High School continues to quietly rise through the ranks with disciplined performances and strong midfield control, while Tenges High School and Christ the King have become known for upsetting bigger teams on crucial occasions.

Rift Valley football has now evolved into one of the toughest and most competitive school football regions in Kenya, where every match is physical, tactical and fiercely contested.

For now, JOBO sits comfortably on the throne, but the battle to dethrone the champions is only getting started.
