An Anglican Church cleric has slammed elected Members of Parliament for failing to address the education needs of Kenyans.
Bishop Charles Onginjo, who heads the Diocese of Maseno South, noted that the education sector is in dire need.
Onginjo said universities and colleges are currently suffering huge deficits in terms of fund disbursements.

“The arrears are so big that most universities can no longer operate,” he said.
Speaking in Seme Sub-County, Onginjo said university funding is in deficit.
He noted that the Higher Education Loans Board is also facing huge deficits.
The cleric said many schools have received minimal capitation funds, with some on the verge of closing.
Onginjo similarly said the Social Health Authority (SHA) is not working effectively for teachers and civil servants.

He urged elected leaders to be sensitive to the needs of ordinary citizens.
Onginjo called on voters to reject non-performing Members of Parliament.
