TSC shakes up principals in Siaya County in bid to boost school leadership

A series of principal transfers have been announced across schools in Siaya County, signalling a major administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening leadership and improving performance in learning institutions.

According to the latest update, several principals have been reassigned to different schools within and outside the county, with some moving across sub-counties to take up new responsibilities.

Among the notable changes, Mayienga Vincent Omondi has been moved from Homabay Boys to Sirembe Secondary School in Gem Wagai, while Monica Omondi leaves Holy Cross Secondary School to head Sinaga Girls in Gem Yala.

In another shift, Mary Achieng’ departs Sinaga Girls to take over leadership at Nyamira Girls in Bondo Sub-county.

Peter Ochieng’ has been transferred from Siaya Central to St. Philips Wera in Rarieda, as Frederick Ochieng’ moves in the opposite direction, leaving St. Philips Wera to head Siaya Central.

William Ogello also exits St. Michael Wanganga in Kisumu County to join Bar Olengo Secondary School in Siaya.

Further changes see Onyango Frederick moving from Nzoia DEB in Kakamega County to Nyadhi Secondary School, while Okodh Jedida Akinyi shifts from Nyadhi to Holy Cross Secondary School.

In an inter-county transfer, Atieno Julius Omondi has been redeployed from Philadelphia Mixed in Turkana to Hono Mixed Secondary School in Siaya.

Clement Oduor also makes a move from Irondi Secondary School in Kisii to Got Odima in Ugenya, with Hellen Ahawo transitioning from Got Odima to St. Stephen Siginga.

The transfers are expected to take effect immediately, with education stakeholders expressing optimism that the changes will inject new leadership approaches, enhance academic performance, and improve management in the affected institutions.

Education officials often undertake such reshuffles to promote efficiency, accountability, and the exchange of ideas across schools.
