Orero Boys Senior School in Homabay County has announced that it will hold a farewell ceremony for its former Chief Principal, Dickens Bula, on Friday, June 12, 2026.
The event, to be held at the school’s main grounds, is expected to attract a cross-section of stakeholders, including alumni, parents, education officials, and members of the local community.
School administrators said the ceremony will formally recognise Bula’s service and the impact of his leadership during his tenure.
In a notice issued by the institution, the farewell has been framed as an opportunity to celebrate a legacy that shaped the school’s direction and performance. Organisers indicated that the program will include speeches, tributes, and reflections from individuals who interacted with the former principal during his time at the school.
Bula is credited with overseeing a period of growth at Orero Boys, marked by improvements in academic performance and discipline.
Education stakeholders familiar with the school say his administration emphasised consistency in teaching, student accountability, and co-curricular participation as part of a broader strategy to raise standards.
During his tenure, the school also recorded steady progress in national examinations, a factor that contributed to strengthening its reputation within the region. His leadership style, described by colleagues as structured and results-oriented, is said to have fostered a more focused academic environment.
The upcoming ceremony is expected to provide a platform for the school community to acknowledge these achievements while offering a formal send-off.
Organisers have invited members of the Orero fraternity and partners of the institution to attend and participate in the event.

Preparations for the ceremony are underway, with the school indicating that it aims to deliver a well-coordinated event befitting the contributions of the outgoing principal.
The gathering is also expected to serve as a point of convergence for past and present stakeholders of the institution.
