The Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) Molo Sub-county Chairperson, John Njoroge Gichuhi, has commended the Ministry of Education for distributing Grade 10 textbooks to schools across Molo Sub-county.
Speaking to Education News in Elburgon Town, Gichuhi said school heads in the region are fully committed to the smooth implementation of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum.
“We, as school heads in Molo Sub-county, are committed to fully implementing CBE and ensuring that all Grade 10 learners excel in their respective pathways and learning areas,” he said.
Gichuhi noted that since the introduction of Grade 10, learners have demonstrated a high level of interaction during lessons. He observed that students are open in sharing their ideas, making it easier for teachers to guide them effectively and enhance learning outcomes.
He also praised fellow school heads in the sub-county for their leadership, which has contributed to improved performance in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
Looking ahead, Gichuhi expressed confidence that students in Molo Sub-county will perform even better in the 2026 KCSE exams, citing continued dedication from educators and stakeholders.

The KESSHA chair further thanked the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for deploying teachers to schools in the area, noting that the move has helped improve academic performance. However, he appealed for the recruitment of additional teachers to address understaffing.
“We greatly appreciate TSC for posting teachers to our schools, but we humbly request the Commission to deploy more teachers to reduce understaffing,” he said.
He emphasized that teachers are key stakeholders in the success of any school, adding that increasing their numbers would significantly enhance the quality of education.
Gichuhi also acknowledged the support of Molo Member of Parliament, Kuria Kimani, for his contributions to education through bursaries and infrastructure development.
He reaffirmed the commitment of school heads in the sub-county to collaborate with all education stakeholders, including parents, to further improve education standards.
Molo Sub-county has a total of 36 secondary schools, comprising 33 public institutions and three private schools.
