President William Ruto has lauded Scott Christian University for its unwavering commitment to academic excellence and moral formation, describing the institution as a key partner in Kenya’s transformation agenda.
Speaking after meeting the university’s leadership at State House, Nairobi, Ruto praised the institution for blending faith with professional training to produce graduates who are not only skilled but also grounded in integrity and service.
The delegation was led by Presiding Bishop Rev. Abraham Mulwa, who briefed the Head of State on the university’s progress, programmes, and plans to expand access to higher education.
Ruto noted that Scott Christian University has distinguished itself by integrating strong moral values into its curriculum, ensuring that students are equipped with practical skills, sound judgment and a deep sense of responsibility toward their communities.

“The university is nurturing a generation of visionary and servant leaders, as well as innovators, who will help build a stronger, more inclusive, and prosperous Kenya,” the president said.
He emphasised that institutions of higher learning play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s future by developing human capital capable of driving economic growth and social cohesion.
According to the president, universities that combine character formation with professional excellence are critical in addressing contemporary challenges such as youth unemployment, ethical leadership gaps and community development.
Scott Christian University, which has its roots in Christian missionary education, has grown into a reputable institution offering diverse programmes in business, education, theology, social sciences and technology.

Its faith-based approach, the head of state observed, sets it apart in producing graduates who are guided by values and a commitment to ethical leadership.
The president reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with private and faith-based universities to expand access to quality education across the country.

He noted that collaboration between the state and educational institutions is essential in empowering more young people to acquire relevant skills and contribute meaningfully to national development.
“Our focus remains on ensuring that no deserving student is left behind due to financial constraints or limited opportunities. We will continue working with institutions such as Scott Christian University to broaden access and strengthen the quality of higher education,” he added.
