Tenwek High School stars to join Kenya Sports Academy in April

Two students from Tenwek High School are set to join the prestigious Kenya Sports Academy this April for advanced training, following their impressive performance at the Rift Valley Secondary School Games against Emining’ Secondary School of Baringo County.

This comes after the duo; Lawrence Maren and Bashir Omar earned national recognition after a stellar display during the regional competition, where they showcased exceptional skill, teamwork and determination.

This was announced by the school chief Principal Mutali Chesebe, who added that their performance caught the attention of sports scouts, who quickly identified them for enrollment at the Kenya Sports Academy.

Chesebe described the achievement as a proud moment for the institution.

“We are thrilled that Lawrence and Bashir will be reporting to the Kenya Sports Academy this April for training. Their dedication and discipline have truly paid off, and this is a major milestone for our school,” he said.

The principal also highlighted Tenwek High School’s continued investment in sports infrastructure, including the construction of a modern basketball court to provide learners with a conducive environment for training and competition.

“Our goal is to nurture well-rounded students who excel both academically and in sports. The new basketball court is a testament to our commitment to developing talent,” Chesebe added.

He further commended the coaches and teachers for their mentorship, noting that the success of Lawrence and Bashir reflects the strong sports culture cultivated at Tenwek High School

The selection of the two students is expected to inspire other learners, demonstrating that dedication, hard work and passion can open doors to national and international opportunities.
