Narok Governor Patrick ole Ntutu has pledged a fully sponsored trip for form four students of Rongena senior school in Mara Ward, Narok West Sub-county, following their special request during the commissioning of a new school bus.
Speaking when he officially handed over the 51-seater bus to the institution, Governor Ntutu said the candidates had asked to be the first learners to use the new vehicle, noting that they were also the ones who initially appealed for its purchase.
“In appreciation of your determination and unity, I will sponsor a fully paid trip for the form four class. You asked for this bus, and you deserve to be the first to enjoy it,” the governor said amid cheers from students and teachers.
The bus was fully funded by the Narok County government at a cost of ksh10.5 million, in a move aimed at improving mobility and supporting academic and co-curricular activities at the school.
The County boss directed the school management, led by the principal Paul Soi, to identify and decide on the destination of the educational trip, assuring them that the county government would meet all the expenses.
