Kenya national chairman of the Amani Club, Kennedy Kunani, has called for more schools to register for the Amani Club.
Speaking at Makueni boys during the Amani club dialogue which brought together about 7 schools across the county, he expressed his joy that this year they have noted a significant turn up as compared to last year, where only two schools (Makueni boys and Kiongwani girls) participated across the county.
“The schools are engaging in matters touching on peace and issues at their learning institutions. This shows that the schools are seriously coming up,” Kunani.

“ We want to achieve youth dialogue, and through that dialogue we can achieve unity in our country,” Kunani.
Makueni county coordinator Amani club Fridah Mutuku noted that the main objective of Amani club is to ensure there is peace in learning institutions where young men and girls are able to dialogue instead of resorting to violence anytime they feel aggrieved.
She encouraged all schools in Makueni County to continue establishing Amani clubs so that they can nurture that aspect of the Amani club.
“We hope that next year we will host a big team of students. This year’s theme is ‘youth voices is dialogue over decision, youth voices for a united Kenya’, where we are debating for the Peace Championship,” Mutuku.
She noted that she appreciated the new entrances like Mbooni boys, Nziu senior, St.Paul Kyamuthei, Kathonzweni girls and those who have been there; Makueni boys and Kiongwani girls. Makueni boys carried the day by becoming the winners in overall entrances.
Mutuku, who is a teacher at Makueni Boys’ High School, applauded the county director of education for support and the host chief principal, Francis Mutua, who has immensely supported them.
