JOOUST has announced vacancies for part-time Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Trainer positions for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) has announced vacancies for part-time Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Trainer positions for the 2026/2027 academic year.

In a public notice issued by the office of the deputy vice chancellor (Academic, Student Affairs and Research), the university invited applications from suitably qualified candidates to take up trainer positions across various technical and vocational disciplines.

According to the advert, the institution is seeking trainers in the following areas: Community Health, Civil Engineering, Digital Journalism, ICT Technician, Marine Engineering, Baking Technology, Cyber Security, Library and Information Science, and Construction Management among others.

Each course requires multiple trainers, with most programmes seeking up to 12 trainers, while some areas such as Baking Technology, Cyber Security, and Library and Information Science require nine trainers.

Minimum qualifications for the positions include a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field, relevant training experience, and TVETA Training Certification.

The university further noted that pedagogical skills will be considered an added advantage.

The university stated that the recruitment is part of its mission and core mandate to strengthen technical and vocational education and training by engaging qualified professionals to support skills development.

Interested candidates are expected to submit their applications as per the guidelines provided in the official notice.

The move is expected to enhance the university’s capacity to deliver quality TVET programmes and equip learners with practical competencies aligned to industry demands
