Bursaries rollout by MP Mwale lifts Senior Schools and tertiary students in Butere

Bursaries have been rolled out by Butere Member of Parliament, MP Tindi Mwale, in tertiary institutions and senior schools across the Constituency.

The MP commenced disbursements of bursary cheques at Lufumbo Girls Senior School after he commissioned a modern dorm holding a capacity of 250 students.

Through vigorous vetting of bursaries applicants, he announced that orphans with attached death certificates of both parents on bursary forms will receive sh. 8,000.

Partial orphans were allocated sh. 6,000, and the child with poor parents will be issued sh. 4,000.

“You can have both parents but are needy, the bursary programme has to benefit all,” Mwale noted.

Structured Bursaries Allocation in Butere

National schools and other boarding schools will receive sh. 10,000, similar to universities and colleges in the Constituency under the bursaries initiative.

Shitswitswi Senior School received the highest bursary allocation of sh. 1,120,000. The MP disclosed that it was a result of more applicants, driven by parents’ efforts to help their children learn.

Bursaries Rollout by

Shibanga Mixed Senior School, with a high student population and strong performance, was issued Sh. 940,000.

Masaba Senior School received sh. 585,000 followed by Mabole Boys with sh. 533,000.

St. Peter’s Muyundi Girls’ Senior School, which received sh. 207,000, expressed joy because the last amount the school received before Mwale became the MP was sh. 13,000 only under previous bursaries allocations.

Recognition of Academic Excellence

At the event, he commended the upcoming Shinamwenyuli Senior School for producing the best KCSE candidate nationally, who scored a mean grade of A plain.

He pledged to offer a new bus as soon as part of continued support alongside the bursaries programme to strengthen educational standards.

The rollout of bursaries across Butere is expected to ease financial pressure on families and improve access to education at both secondary and tertiary levels.
