The Kisii University has launched the Harnessing Education Research for Impact (HERI) Africa, an initiative aimed at strengthening education research and promotion of evidence- based systems to improve learning outcomes in Africa.
The University’s’ Vice Chancellor Prof. Nathan Ogechi said the institution is open to all partners who are involved in scientific research geared towards the realisation of vision 2030 in the country.

He asked lecturers to encourage students to embrace leadership innovation and research to enable them get recognized globally and secure jobs.
Speaking at the same event, Education Cabinet secretary said that HERI Africa is a timely and strategic initiative aimed at bridging the gap between academic research and practical impact.
“By strengthening collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge exchange across institutions, the programme will enhance the quality, relevance, and application of research across the continent.” Ogamba said

The event attracted key leaders led by the Chairman of the innovative Society of Kenya attendants, Charles Mogaka, who asked educators to embrace innovation by using locally available resources in their research fields in order to reduce the cost.
