Lugulu Boarding and Day Comprehensive School in Bungoma County on Friday held a thanksgiving ceremony after emerging as the top institution in the county in the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), an achievement that drew parents, teachers, learners and local leaders to mark the milestone.
Head teacher Ms Jane Ngichabe attributed the performance to teamwork and institutional support, noting that the school prioritised early syllabus coverage, continuous assessment and learner mentorship to sustain consistent academic focus.

“The results we are celebrating today are a product of teamwork, discipline and consistency,” Ngichabe said.
Bungoma County Senator and Senate Majority Whip, Hon. David Wakoli, congratulated the institution and urged other schools to draw lessons from its approach, stating that grassroots institutions can achieve strong outcomes through effective leadership and collaboration.
Parents who attended the ceremony described the top county ranking as evidence of a sustained partnership between the school and the wider community.
