Speaking during the launch held at Rosoga Girls High School, Kiborek said the move would ease the financial burden on families and curb school dropouts caused by unpaid fees, adding that no Learner in Mogotio Constituency will pay fees in day secondary schools.

“In what I consider a transformative moment for our constituency, every learner in a day secondary school will now enjoy a full scholarship through the NG-CDF kitty. No child should stay at home because of school fees,” Kiborek declared.

Under the new allocations, boarding school students will receive Ksh 10,000 each, while total orphans in boarding schools will get Ksh 30,000. Partial orphans have been allocated Ksh 15,000.

Learners living with disabilities will receive Ksh 12,000, and students at Emining Special School will benefit from Ksh 10,000 each.

The fund also extends to tertiary institutions. Students in polytechnics and vocational colleges will receive Ksh 5,000 each; those in technical training institutes Ksh 6,000; teachers training colleges Ksh 7,000; KMTC and other medical colleges Ksh 8,000; and university students Ksh 8,000.

Day school students studying outside Mogotio Constituency will receive Ksh 5,000, while orphans in day secondary schools will get Ksh 10,000.

Kiborek noted that the targeted allocations were designed to cushion the most vulnerable learners, including orphans, students with disabilities and those pursuing higher education.

Beyond bursaries, the legislator revealed that more than 150 schools in the constituency have been built or renovated using NG-CDF funds.

“Even so, we still have challenges. There is a shortage of classrooms. I have dispatched my team to assess the situation across all schools so that I can plan properly using CDF, and also work with friends, donors and other support organisations to mobilise resources and construct the needed facilities,” Kiborek said.

A technical team has already been deployed to evaluate institutions requiring additional classrooms or renovations, with plans underway to seek further support from development partners and state agencies.

The initiative marks one of the most comprehensive education support programmes in the constituency’s history, with leaders expressing optimism that it will significantly improve retention and transition rates across learning institutions.
