West Mugirango Member of Parliament, MP Steve Mogaka has praised principals from his constituency for adhering to his call not to send home students who have not completed payment of school fees until his NG-CDF office organised the release of intended bursaries.
Speaking at Gesiaga Secondary during their education and prize giving day, the MP said that school heads saved students from an interrupted academic progress adding that continuous staying at home due to school fees affects education quality and results in the national examinations.
“Principals, I laud you for honouring my request to keep students at school consistently and this has enabled you to produce good results in the national examinations.” He said.
The MP also delivered a cheque of Ksh 1.7 million to benefit 432 students who applied for Constituency Education Bursary Funds.

He thanked the Gesiaga Chief Principal Dr Zachary Ondieki for his prudent leadership among the staff, teachers, support staff and learners who he said have collaborated in producing the impressive results now being celebrated.
The MP who was accompanied by majority of MCA from Nyamira County led by Kemera Ward MCA James Maating’a gave Ksh 200,000 to help the staff celebrate the impressive 2025 KCSE examination results and promised to add a bull to slaughter at the end of the month.
He asked teachers to provide good guidance to students by balancing their classwork with extracurricular activities to enable them grow and develop holistically.
The Principal of the School Dr. Zachary Ondieki thanked the MP for the good gesture and asked other MPs to emulate him in the support of education.
He said that Gesiaga Secondary school has more than 4000 students adding that the population needs consolidated effort to maintain in terms of feeding, provision of enough learning materials and discipline.
He said that the school has set a target of 8.5 in these years KCSE examinations and asked all stakeholders to remain focused on the target.
