Narok Town MCA Douglas Masikonde has intensified efforts to keep every child in school after identifying and supporting grade 10 learners who had not reported for the current academic term.

This followed an earlier public notice calling on all students who were yet to join school to reach out for assistance.

According to Masikonde, a total of 60 students from various parts of the town were successfully identified, and their individual situations were reviewed.

Many learners faced challenges due to insufficient school requirements and fees, which often hindered timely school reporting.

To support the national 100 per cent school transition agenda, Masikonde’s office provided the students with essential learning materials, including school uniforms, writing books, pens, and sanitary supplies.

The intervention aims to remove immediate barriers that prevent learners from settling into school.

In a hands-on approach, Masikonde said he will work closely with the area Chief to personally escort the learners to their respective schools, ensuring they report with confidence and dignity.

He added that the move is meant to reassure both parents and students that the community stands with them.

He called on the school principals within Narok Town to admit the learners as they are, as arrangements to address outstanding school fees are currently underway.

The initiative highlights strong collaboration among local leadership, administrators, and schools, reinforcing the commitment to inclusive education and ensuring that no child is left behind due to economic hardship.
