Handidi day and boarding senior school in Shinyalu Constituency, Kakamega County could not meet the target of 25 students scoring a C+ and above in 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) due to three candidates who were not attending school regularly, the school Director of Studies has said.
The school DoS, James Lumwaji revealed that 22 candidates managed to score a mean grade of C+ and above out of the projected 25
Speaking in his office Lumwaji expressed optimism over the performance which has created improvement and registered a highest mean score of 5.16 since its inception in 2002 being a greater achievement for the school
“This year the school intends to perform very well. We have received 30 students offered full scholarships for Form four through the Board of Management (BOM),” he said.

“The school has been finding ways of keeping them in school because of the boarding facilities, which has attracted students with very good marks of 250 in KCPE and above from various parts of the country.” Noted the DOS
In regard to the performances students are showing good signs of doing well and therefore, expecting to raise over 30 students direct entry to university come KCSE 2026
He extended a clarion call to well-wishers in supporting needy students saying that all are welcome to give assistance and also overcome the fees challenge in admitting needy students without sending them away
