The County Government of Bomet has opened applications for its 2026 scholarship programme, offering full tuition support to needy and deserving learners pursuing senior school and vocational training within the county.

The programme, spearheaded by the Department of Education, Youth Sports and Vocational Training, targets students who demonstrated good academic performance but face financial hardship.

According to the official notice issued by the county, the scholarship will fully cover tuition for a period of three years.

It is open to students who sat the 2025 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), examination and are joining senior schools as day scholars, as well newly admitted trainees enrolling in any of the 33 vocational training centres across Bomet County.

Applicants must be residents of Bomet County by birth.

Eligibility requirements indicate that Grade 10, day scholars must have attained at least 50 points to qualify, while candidates living with disabilities are eligible with a minimum of 35 points upon presentation of a valid disability card or equivalent proof.

Vocational training centre applicants must present proof of new admission to one of the county’s registered institutions.

The county has emphasized that priority will be given to students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, including those who have lost one or both parents, learners affected by chronic illness or disability, families displaced by disasters or households with no verifiable assets.
