Matungu Member of Parliament Peter Nabulindo has announced a scholarship drive targeting bright and needy Grade 10 students, promising immediate fee support to ensure their admission and retention in senior schools. He pledged on Wednesday, January 21, during the official handover of the new administration block at Emuberi Comprehensive School.
Nabulindo said cheques will be issued on the spot to families facing financial barriers, urging parents who are still struggling to enroll Grade 10 learners to visit the Matungu NG‑CDF offices for assistance. He appealed to residents to take up the opportunity, noting that Grade 10 admissions remain open and that learners currently at home due to fees should approach his office without delay.
The MP told principals across the constituency that any student admitted under his scholarship programme will not be sent home for fees until they complete senior school. Nabulindo said the initiative was a constituency mandate; he said parents should feel confident seeking help: “You sent me to Parliamen,t and I should accomplish my pledges.”

Nabulindo also addressed reports that some parents are hesitant to ask for support, encouraging them to come forward and promising facilitation for admissions. He emphasized that starting next week, schools in Matungu should be filled with students who sat last year’s KJSEA exams and are eligible for Grade 10, warning against keeping children at home over fees.
Emuberi Primary and Junior Secondary School head teacher Robert Opwora lauded the MP for delivering a modern administration office, saying it will boost performance.
Despite strong KJSEA results, Opwora noted the school has operated without electricity for years and requested KSh 170,000 to pay an electrician and restore power after a solar panel was damaged by thunder and lightning. He said reliable electricity is essential for digital learning and for the new office to function effectively.
