Moi Gesusu High School in Masaba South Sub County, Kisii County has been temporarily closed following students strike that caused damages on school property.
According to the reports, trouble started on Saturday evening after the students finished Church services and then burst into protest on the road after closing the school gate and all school offices.
The reports further states that the students were unsatisfied with the results the school posted in the last 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, (KCSE) exams, prompting them to chant slogans against their principal to vacate the school over poor examination results.

The uncontrollable students blocked Keroka- Nyangusu road, interfering the traffic for sometime as they sang anti-principal war songs blaming him for not leading the school to perform well in the 2025 KCSE examinations.
They accused the principal of posting false results on face book claiming that the school posted a mean score of 7.2 instead of 6.4 in the recently released Form Four examination results.
“We don’t want him at the school let him send someone else to pick his property on his behalf and leave the school completely if he wants peace.” Said one of the Form Three student who did not want to be named because of fear of punishment.
After they were restrained by the public to stop further interference with the traffic, the students returned to school and decided to vent their anger on the offices and classrooms, vandalizing them causing extensive damage.

“This is an era of reason; learners should rise above backward thinking and learn to embrace dialogue whenever they felt offended.” Said John Nyakonu
He thanked God that none of the students was hurt during the melee inspite of their mischief.
