The Principal of Kamashia Mixed Secondary School in Mumias East Sub Count, Kakamega has expressed content with the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates for posting an impressive results, saying the change of attitude among parents towards education led to good results.
In the 2025 KCSEresults four candidates scored a mean grade of A- as others also post good grades.
“The school has once again done well not only last year but has been producing excellent results for the last 4 years and this year 150 students have direct entry to university out of 196,” he said
Speaking during the release of the KCSE results, the school principal Gerald Luvembe disclosed that the mean score has been rising for three consecutive years since his inception, adding that in 2022 the mean was 5.8, in 2023 was 6.8, then moved to a mean of 7.5 until this year
“We have been moving that way, as a result of the strategic plan which was handed over to parents. The plan had all our achievements.” Luvembe Noted, on infrastructure development the school tried to achieve which led to increase in enrollment.

“For the last 3 years student enrollment was 300, but with exemplary performance, students got attracted to join the school. By last year the population was 800 and that has boosted us because the more the enrollment the better competition.” Principal highlighted
He hailed the Board of Management (BoM) for working well with the administration leading to minimal interference and also the community has really owned the school making work easier
