Marobo Friends Boys High School in Bungoma County delivered an inspiring academic breakthrough, producing A grades in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations after four decades since its establishment in 1986.
The historic performance saw the school post a mean grade of 6.615 (C+), with 41 out of 78 candidates attaining direct entry to public universities, translating to a 53 per cent university qualification rate.
Beyond the numbers, the results symbolized, a powerful story of perseverance and transformation for a school that has for years laboured outside the academic spotlight.
For the first time in its history, Marobo Friends Boys produced top-tier grades across the board, including A- and B+ scores, while recording zero cases of D- and E grades, with teachers describing the outcome as the reward of sustained effort rather than a one-off success.
Senior Principal Joseph Tom Nyachwaya said the results were a reminder that no school is condemned to mediocrity.
“This success did not come overnight. It is the product of teamwork, discipline and faith in our learners. When teachers, parents and students pull in one direction, nothing is impossible,” said Nyachwaya.

He credited teachers for going the extra mile in mentoring learners, parents for offering moral and material support, and students for embracing discipline and a renewed culture of academic focus.
According to the principal, the school deliberately nurtured confidence among learners, many of whom joined with modest expectations but left believing in their own potential.
The achievement has now turned Marobo Friends Boys into a beacon of hope for other schools in rural Kabuchai and beyond. Education stakeholders say the results send a clear message that improvement is achievable through vision-driven leadership and collective responsibility.
Addressing the current Form Four class, Nyachwaya urged them to draw motivation from the class of 2025, describing education as the most reliable pathway to a meaningful future.
“Your background does not define your destiny. Hard work, discipline and focus will always open doors,” he said.
As celebrations continue within the school community, Marobo Friends Boys High School is not just marking improved grades; it is celebrating a rebirth of belief. The 2025 KCSE results stand as a powerful inspiration that with patience, unity and determination, even the longest academic journeys can end in triumph.
