KICD releases 2026 CBE Bookshop pricelist for curriculum designs

The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) has released the official 2026 bookshop pricelist for curriculum designs covering learners from Pre-Primary 1 (PP1) to Grade 10 under the Competency-Based Education (CBE).

According to the pricelist, curriculum designs for PP1 and PP2 will retail at Ksh 600 each.

For Grades 1 to 3, the merged curriculum designs covering English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Creative and Indigenous Activities, Christian Religious Education (CRE), Islamic Religious Education (IRE), and Environmental Activities will cost Ksh 500 per design.

In Grades 4, 5 and 6, curriculum designs for English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Creative Arts, CRE, IRE, Agriculture, Arabic, Social Studies, Science and Technology, and French will be priced at Ksh 400 each.

For Grade 7, learners will access curriculum designs for English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Creative Arts, CRE, IRE, Agriculture, Arabic, Social Studies, Pre-Technical Studies, Integrated Science, and French, each costing Ksh 400.

Similarly, Grade 8 curriculum designs covering English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Creative Arts, CRE, IRE, Agriculture, Arabic, Social Studies, Pre-Technical Studies, Integrated Science, and Indigenous Languages will retail at Ksh 400 per subject.

The same pricing applies to Grade 9, where curriculum designs for the listed subjects will also cost Ksh 400 each.

For Grade 10, KICD has set the price of curriculum designs for all subjects at Ksh 400 per design.

The release of the 2026 pricelist is expected to guide schools, teachers, parents, and bookshops in planning and budgeting ahead of the new academic year
