Kisii’s Masige West Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Michael Motume has asked students to obey their teachers as they are well positioned to assist them realize their potential and identify the suitable education pathway for their future career.
The County lawmaker said that teachers are trained to study the psychology and ambitions of children at their formative years and with the help of parents they can shape them for the greater future.
Motume was speaking at his Grade Five teacher Job Batiri’s home when he paid him a courtesy call.
“He taught me well in standard five and made me what I am and I decided to visit him and give back to the society in my own way.” He said.

The MCA asked teachers to uphold their professional ethics in order to command respect from both pupils and the parents whom they serve, urging school alumni to visit their former institutions to encourage and motivate learners pursue attractive careers that will help them earn a living.
He appealed to the youth who completed their form four course or even those who dropped out of school to join local Polytechnics and train for a practical skill in courses like tailoring and dressing making, catering and carpentry for self-sustainability.
Motume also promised that his office will continue to support education development projects whenever funds are available
