Mukumu Girls High School has recorded a strong showing in the 2025 KCSE, with 422 out of 499 candidates attaining grade C+(Plus), qualifying for direct entry to university. The results sparked celebrations, marking a notable improvement compared to last year’s performance.
Senior Principal Sister Jane Mmbone praised the collective effort behind the outcome, crediting teachers for their commitment, spiritual leaders for their steadfast support, and non‑teaching staff for sustaining the school’s daily operations. She said the school is targeting even better results in the next cycle, buoyed by the momentum and discipline shown by the current cohort.
“This year we are taking so many candidates to university as compared to other years. All students have qualified and are trainable. I’m optimistic that this year’s KCSE candidates will surpass the results,” Sister Mmbone said during a press briefing, underscoring the school’s focus on consistency and student preparedness.

The celebrations also drew alumni, including Faith Amoit, who scored a B plain in last year’s KCSE. Raised by a single mother, Amoit reflected on the financial and personal challenges she faced, including being sent home for fees, and thanked her class teacher, Mr. Were Manyasa, for guidance. She encouraged current candidates to stay focused and resilient as they prepare for the next phase of their education.
“It was not easy since there are many challenges I passed through, not forgetting being sent home for fees, but now I’m happy and would encourage the remaining candidates to put more effort,” Amoit said.
Amoti hopes to join Jomo Kenyatta University to pursue law, a goal she says was shaped by perseverance and support from the school community.
